· Ken is a professional IT Project Manager, working in all stages of the project lifecycle. He has substantial experience in: o Project feasibility and requirements management; management plans, planning and PERT analysis, WBS and risk management. o Project running, progress tracking and progress reporting. o Project health-checks/audits and successful project turn-arounds. o Ken is a practitioner of APM accredited Project Management Methodology. o Ken is a proficient user of MS Project and has also used Pertmaster, Project Commander, Artemis and PMW. Ken has trained many people in project management techniques and supporting software tools. o Ken has managed vendors, suppliers and contractors on several occasions. · As a Management Consultant, Ken has worked on many different IT Project Management and Technical roles and has substantial experience in: o Bid management § Development of proposal, presentation of solution to customers. § Analysis of customer requirements, designing “world-class” solutions, development of business plan, resource planning and costing. § Risk assessment of solution. § Follow up activities to achieve sign-off and sale. § Project Initiation – ensuring the infrastructure is in place. o Operating on-site for customers § Maintaining the required level of quality on the assignment. § Meeting deliverables within the allotted timescales. § Facilitation and design of workshops - transfer of knowledge and skills. o Assignment management § Team leadership/mentoring on the project to the consultancy team considering individual development needs against project requirements. Line management of the project team. § Formulating and agreeing project plans and deliverables across multiple disciplines. Developing sign-off criteria and managing the assignment progress. § Coordinating the assignment revenue, responsibility for invoicing to customer finance departments. § Relationship management with the customer, ensuring their needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner. Generating further revenue through track record. § Post Project Review. · Ken is an industry expert in the fields of Information Management, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM), Document Management, System Integration, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Digital Mock-Up (DMU). o Ken has worked closely with many of the systems and vendors including: Metaphase, Windchill, Sherpa, Iman, Unigraphics, EDS, Intergraph, CATIA, AutoCAD, HP and IBM. o Ken has developed the requirements, implemented and rolled out several enterprise-wide solutions. o Ken has designed and implemented interfaces and integrations between PDM, CAD and ERP. o Ken is an authority in life-cycle management, configuration management, product and system structures, and object oriented architecture. · Ken has extensive knowledge of Complex Data Management including: o data architecture and distributed data environments, o logical and physical data models and data mapping, data migration and data cleansing, o relational, object oriented, hierarchical and other database technologies. o Ken has designed and owned the data models for projects on several occasions. · Ken has considerable experience of working in IT development, using different software development methodologies including waterfall and rapid prototyping. Ken has also worked with software quality standards. · At the technical level, Ken is very familiar with Oracle (as a user, programmer and DBA), SQL, Unix, MS Office Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access, Outlook, FrontPage), several structured programming languages (incl. C, Pascal, Fortran, VBS) and Source Management Environments (CASE, DSEE, SCCS).
